Gumbo Limbo Nature Preserve

Gumbo Limbo Nature Preserve is one of the most popular locations in Boca Raton. It’s a great place to walk and enjoy the outdoors, with many trails to explore and an observation tower for panoramic views. The preserve also features a nature center, butterfly garden and sea turtle rehabilitation program that treats an average of 50-100 patients and 200-300 hatchlings annually. You can actually see the different turtles in their various stages of rehabilitation. Vivian enjoyed the baby turtles the most. Just be sure to check with weather before you go! Gumbo Limbo shuts down during storms as a precaution.

Sugar Sand Park

Sugar Sand Park is a municipal park located in Boca Raton, Florida. The park includes amenities such as pavilions, nature trails, ball fields, a field house and community center. There’s also the Children’s Explorium which is a small children’s science museum.

There is a carousel located within the park that allows visitors to ride for $2 per person or $10 for an unlimited ride pass. Tokens are available for purchase within the community center.

The playground is the highlight of this park! It is very large and will keep your little ones busy for a long time. The area has many of standard features you’d find at any playground (benches, swings etc.) but it also contains one of South Florida’s best splash pads, so be sure to bring a change of clothes for your little ones!

Mizner Park

Mizner Park is a shopping and entertainment district in Boca Raton. It is located on South Federal Highway and in the heart of downtown Boca Raton. This park was built by Addison Mizner, an architect who specialized in building homes for millionaires during the early 1900s. The area has since expanded and offers a variety of high-end shops, restaurants, and entertainment. We also found that it is a great place to take pictures.

Boca Raton Beaches

There are plenty of beautiful beaches in Boca Raton. Whether you’re looking for a calm, safe place to swim, or you want to swim the waves with children, there’s no shortage of options in this city. And the best part? Many of these beaches have shops and restaurants close by so you can grab a bite before going back into the water for another round. Some even have lifeguards on duty!

If you’re looking for things to do on land, consider renting some beach toys from one of our local vendors like Water Sports Rentals and Gear Outfitters or The Board Shack. Or grab some sunscreen from Sunnyside Beach Shop and get ready to soak up those rays at South Beach Park.

Town Center at Boca Raton
