Space View Park
Speaking of how close Titusville is to the rocket launch pad, Space View Park is located less than 15 miles directly across the Indian River from the launch pads of the Canaveral Spaceport. The park provides a great place to go for a picnic or to take a walk. There are several monuments dedicated to the space programs and astronauts. The Park is the first and only walk in the nation that honors America’s astronauts as well as the men and women behind the scenes who helped America lead the world in space exploration.
American Space Museum & Space Walk of Fame
If you’re interested in the history of space travel, the American Space Museum & Space Walk of Fame is an excellent choice. It was founded in 1962 and features artifacts from all eras of manned spaceflight.
There’s a gift shop and restaurant on-site (the Blue Bayou Restaurant), as well as a rocket garden displaying vintage launch vehicles, including Atlas rockets and Mercury spacecrafts. A museum inside highlights historic moments in the United States’ space program. If your children are into science and technology, this is an ideal place for them!
Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum
The Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum is located at the Titusville-Cocoa Airport. The museum features over 25 aircraft including an impressive collection of vintage warbirds that have been meticulously restored to flight condition. Visitors can walk through these beautiful planes as well as take advantage of photo opportunities in front of them.
