Zoo Miami is a zoo in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It is located at 12400 SW 152nd Street in Miami and has been accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) since 1972. Zoo Miami currently holds more than 2,000 animals representing 400 species of mammals, birds and reptiles from around the world. The zoo’s collection includes many endangered species as well as notable individuals such as Bai Yun, one of very few remaining Northern White Rhinoceros females left on Earth; Mei Lan (“Beautiful”), one of fewer than 30 captive pandas born in North America over the past 40 years; and Tufani, an elephant who learned to paint with her trunk.
