The sanctuary has been serving as a nature preserve and educational center since 1993. &nbsp;The sanctuary offers guided tours of its trails through the many acres of gardens and native plants of their property. On these tours you will learn about how they are working to conserve the natural ecosystem while providing habitats for animals like alligators, turtles and snakes. You may even have the opportunity to see and hold some of these animals, which your children will love! The lighthouse itself is over 100 years old and has been designated a historic landmark by the U.S. Department of Interior. enjoy the beach (something you should absolutely do in this area). If you\u2019re looking for something a little extra, you will be pleased to also find a playground, picnic area, and fishing pier. Harbourside Place is the perfect choice! This ritzy area will offer multiple fine-dining options, and if you\u2019re feeling really fancy, some great areas for yacht-watching.
