Introduction
Delray Beach is a small city on the Atlantic coast of Florida, just south of Miami. We truly enjoyed our time in Delray and would consider it a “hidden gem” in southern Florida. Visitors can enjoy a variety of things like fishing, boating, surfing, and sight-seeing. There are lots of attractions and avenues to explore in this city!

Wakodahatchee Wetlands
Wakodahatchee Wetlands features a three-quarter mile boardwalk that crosses between open water pond areas and islands. Wakodahatchee is home to an abundance of wildlife as more than 178 bird species have been identified. You could also see some turtles, alligators, rabbits, fish, frogs and raccoons! Visitors can enjoy an educational experience by walking through this natural habitat while viewing these animals in their native environment.The facility also offers guided tours for groups who would like to learn about Florida wetlands or just want a relaxing activity without having to get too close or touch the animals themselves!
Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens
Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens is a 100-acre Japanese garden, botanical garden, and museum located in Delray Beach. It was opened to the public in 1981 as a tribute to Japanese culture and to honor the ties between Delray Beach and its sister city Kumamoto City. The Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens features numerous exhibits, floral arrangements native to Japan, and an impressive collection of bonsai trees. On top of all this, there’s also an outdoor sculpture garden with over 120 sculptures from around the world. We were captivated by the beauty and the uniqueness of this garden. It’s unlike anything we’ve seen before!
This is definitely one of our absolute favorite botanical gardens in the entire state. From the moment you step foot on the property, you will feel as though you have been transported from the United States to Southeast Asia!
Atlantic Avenue Delray Florida
If you’re looking for a relaxing place to sit and enjoy the weather, Atlantic Avenue is a great place to go. There are lots of shops and restaurants here that you can find something nice to do while you walk down the street. You will be able to find some great food here as well as things like live music and events going on in the park right in front of the beachfront homes. This is one of my favorite places in Delray Beach because it has so much going on every day that I am always able to find something new when I come here with my friends!
Delray Municipal Beach
Delray Municipal Beach is where you need to go if you’re looking to have a relaxing beach day! The sand is soft and the water is clear, which means you’ll have a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful scenery and warm weather. There are also a variety of activities available at this beach including swimming, boating and fishing.
The Girls Strawberry U-pick
Believe us when we say Strawberry U-Pick is an experience unlike any other, and it’s one of the best things to do in Delray Beach! You’ll know you’re at The Girls Strawberry U-pick when you see all the colorful little houses surrounding the farm! There are lots of things to do here—the best part might be exploring all of their unique shops, seeing the animals, or it just may be the amazing ice cream. Depending on the season, you can actually pick strawberries here; but if not, you can fill your time with mini golf, a bird feeding experience, a petting zoo, and even pizza. Doesn’t this place sound amazing? We thought so, and Vivian did as well. You don’t want to miss out on this place!
Ocean One Bar and Grill
Ocean One Bar and Grill is located within the Delray Market Place. Ocean One Bar and Grill has several locations throughout Florida, and a location in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is possibly one of our favorite lunch places in all of South Florida because they offer a wide variety of lunch options for $5.99 each!
