The park boasts over 40 different species of trees including oak trees that were planted by early settlers in the area. Gilbert Park

Gilbert Park is a public park located in Mount Dora, Florida. The park features an open-air performance space, a children’s playground, and walking trails through the surrounding woods. It’s a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.

The park is named after the city’s founder, James H. Albertson. It was originally known as Albertson Park and was dedicated in 1925. The open-air performance space was constructed in 2008 and hosts concerts, festivals, and other events throughout the year.

Mount Dora Museum of Speed

The Museum of Speed is located in the former Mount Dora Fire Station. The museum’s collection includes historic automobiles, motorcycles, and other vehicles from around the world. The exhibits also include photos, posters, and other memorabilia that highlight racing events held in Mount Dora during its heyday as a sports car capital.

The museum is open year-round.

The Mount Dora Village Shoppes and Boutiques is a collection of small shops, restaurants, and galleries in the center of town. If you’re looking for a fun way to see the lake and get a glimpse of homes beyond your reach, Lake Dora Scenic Boat Tours are the way to go. The tour departs from the lakefront, where visitors can board and enjoy an hour-long tour around one of Florida’s most beautiful lakes. Tickets cost $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12 years old and seniors over 65 years old (with a military discount) but are only available on weekends from April-October.

Lake County Folk Festival

The Lake County Folk Festival is held at the historic Mount Dora Events Park and Amphitheatre. The festival’s history dates back to 1972 when it was started by local music teacher John Boggs. He wanted to create an annual event that could bring people together from all different walks of life, with one common bond: music! Nowadays, this festival has grown into one of the largest folk festivals in Florida.

You can expect great performances from local musicians as well as a few headliners like Steve Forbert or Valerie Smith & Liberty Pike on select nights throughout the weekend. Festival goers are also treated to delicious food options like pulled pork sandwiches and low country boil (chicken stew). If you’re looking for souvenirs, vendors sell t-shirts and other festival memorabilia at affordable prices.

Renninger’s Antique Center & Farmer’s Flea Market

One of the best things to do in Mount Dora is visit the Renninger’s Antique Center and Farmer’s Flea Market. Renninger’s is known as “The Antique Capital of the South”, and it has more than 300 dealers selling antiques, vintage furniture, jewelry, pottery, art, and much more.

Renninger’s has been open since 1964 and is open year-round (except for major holidays). They are located at 1815 N. Donnelly Street in Mount Dora Florida about 45 minutes from Orlando Airport.

Renninger’s is open every day except for major holidays. They are open from 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday and from 11 am to 4 pm on Sundays. Renninger has many unique items for sale, including furniture, art, pottery, vintage items, and more.

The Butterfly Exhibit at the Lakeside Inn

The Butterfly Exhibit at the Lakeside Inn is a great opportunity for you to get up close and personal with some beautiful butterflies. The exhibit is open from 10 am – 5 pm daily from March to November, so there’s no excuse not to make it over! There are approximately 300 different types of butterflies that make their home here, including monarchs and painted ladies. The Butterfly Exhibit offers an up-close look at these beautiful insects through glass enclosures. You can even see them fluttering around outside in their natural habitat if you’re lucky!

Mount Dora Golf Club is a public golf course with 18 holes and a par of 72. The golf course has a beautiful view of the lake, and it’s not too hard on your wallet. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and there are many different ways to play for all skill levels.

The golf course is open year-round, and it’s always a great time to play. From the tees, the fairways are beautiful and well-maintained.
